Enham receives visit from the Mayor of Winchester
1 December 2009
Disability charity Enham was honoured to receive a visit recently (26th November) from the Mayor of Winchester, Councillor Dominic Hiscock.
Accompanied by Mike Smith, Enham’s Chief Executive and Rod Chamberlain, Enham’s Chairman, the Mayor was given a full tour of our Headquarters in Enham Alamein including a visit to EPAS - Enham Packaging and Storage, where we provide direct employment opportunities and employment training for our disabled clients.
“I was really impressed during my visit to Enham. It is so important that people can be as independent as humanly possible. Enham gives disabled people the opportunity to have more control over their lives.” said the Mayor.
The invitation to the Mayor came about through Enham’s Partnership Liaison Manager Michael Steel, when they both met during another official engagement in Winchester earlier this year. He wanted to learn more about the work of Enham and how we enable disabled people to have greater choices and lead fulfilling and independent lives.
Enham is pleased that the Mayor enjoyed his visit and has seen first-hand some of the programmes and opportunities we provide, giving disabled people freedom of choice to live their lives as they want to.
