Stannah volunteers wave magic brushes at Enham
18 June 2009
A team of 25 volunteers from stairlift company, Stannah, in Andover, have waved their magic brushes at Enham's Alexandra House, one of our three residential homes, to give the interior a much needed face lift.
The Stannah team began their work in Alexandra House where they renovated, painted and decorated the public corridor spaces. The next job was to install a new kitchenette and their work was completed outside where they restored existing garden furniture so everyone at nearby Elizabeth House can enjoy long summer days.
The project was made possible through the community volunteer scheme at Stannah that supports staff to take time out to help worthy causes in Andover. A total of 200 man hours over two days has been donated to Enham and a lot of hard work by the volunteers!
Stannah team member and co-ordinator Lela Ponting explained ‘It is a fantastic feeling to put hard work into a local project that really does make a difference. Our team have thoroughly enjoyed the experience and got to know each other a little better at the same time. We were overwhelmed with the goodwill and generosity of Chris West at Andover Buildbase who donated all our materials for the job and lots of encouragement too!'
