Enham is flying high in Farnborough
23 September 2009
A new partnership is taking off in Farnborough as the latest stylish Aviator Hotel joins forces with leading disability organisation Enham in a work placement recruitment drive.
The idea was initiated via Enham’s e2e (entry 2 employment programme) which is based in three Hampshire locations, Southampton, Alton and Farnborough – in Farnborough’s Community Centre. The e2e programme, funded by the Learning & Skills Council, is designed to support 16 -18 year olds, some of which may have disabilities. Programme areas include confidence & self esteem, key skills, work experience, CV preparation, interview techniques and job search, plus individual support such as social skills and independent living.
The Aviator hotel which opened in 2008, is a landmark 169 bedroom contemporary hotel overlooking Farnborough Airport. The new partnership with Enham will provide job opportunities and work placements for Enham clients, in order to gain valuable skills in customer service, hotel management and catering.
Michael Steel, Enham’s Partnership Liaison Manager commented, ‘I’m thrilled to say that the Aviator Hotel is another high profile organisation to sign up with us as a key account in providing work experience placements across the South East. This partnership will provide the opportunity for Enham clients to experience a realistic work environment and develop work based skills, enhancing their chances of moving towards paid employment’.
Rohan Slabbert, Rooms Division Manager at the Aviator Hotel added, ‘We here at the Aviator are really pleased to have joined up with Enham to help and support their clients with placements etc. By supporting local people and giving them a chance to experience a real working environment here at the Aviator is just fantastic.’
