Advisory Groups
Making sure all the people we support, our employees, volunteers, and supporters have a voice, and are listened to, is key to the success of our organisation.
Decisions taken by our Executive Board and the Trustees are influenced by our two advisory groups: the Advisory Forum on Disability and The Partnership Board.
Advisory Forum on Disability
The Trustee Board is supported in its strategy and its understanding of disability issues by the Advisory Forum on Disability, which was established in 2007. This is a group currently comprising five prominent disabled people (Judith Jesky, Phil Friend OBE, Dr Mark Deal and Dr Kevin Fitzpatrick) chaired by Sir Bert Massie CBE, former Chair of the Disability Rights Commission.
Together with the Vice Presidents and the Trustees, Members of the Forum have full voting powers at General Meetings of Enham.
The forum has responsibilities to review and make recommendations on matters, such as:
- initiatives
- programmes
- research projects
They also support and represent our organisation to external agencies and stakeholders.
The Partnership Board
The organisation is also supported by a Partnership Board which consists of representatives from clients, employees and volunteers who raise issues and influence the decisions at Enham in partnership with the Executive Board and the Trustees.
The Board focuses on operational and strategic areas and, since it was instigated in 2010, has already been very influential, especially in Enham's communications policy and use of Assistive Technology.
