Country Bumpkin Reunion Night is a resounding success

A trip down memory lane was taken at the Andover Masonic Hall recently when nearly 200 people attend a reunion of famous Andover nightspot The Country Bumpkin.
Organised by Events and Community Fundraiser Liz Cosgrove, as a fundraiser for disability charity Enham, the event on the 18th November 2011 attracted many former Bumpkin clubbers who travelled from as far afield as Leeds and Liverpool. Those attending were eager to revisit past memories, many looking for old friends and faces to reconnect with and they were not disappointed! Tickets were checked by original doorman Harry Painter (now in his 80’s) who was most definitely the star of the show, still fitting into the dinner suit he wore at the time, Harry has kept the glove he used to slip on when “things were hotting up”
Pictures of original staff and the opening night adorned the walls and with fantastic music provided by original DJ’s Graham Hunter, Steve Hough and Humphrey Williams, who kindly gave their services free of charge to help the fundraising, party goers danced the night away and raised £1,226 for Enham
This successful event is set to be repeated next year, for more information, please register your interest by emailing Liz Cosgrove at liz.cosgrove@enham.org.uk
