Criminal Record Bureau (CRB) Checks
Many people who use Direct Payments carry out a CRB checks to make safer recruitment decisions when employing staff. The CRB check can complement other vetting processes you use such as interviews and reference checking.
A CRB check is simply a process which enables employers to check if a potential employee has a criminal record. The information is provided by the Criminal Records Bureau, which is a government agency that can disclose police records for eligible jobs and volunteer posts.
As a registered body with the CRB, Enham can process CRB disclosures on your behalf. We will:
- ensure the CRB application form is fully completed
- countersign applications to confirm that you (as an employer) are entitled to access criminal record information
- advise on making sure you keep within the CRB's Code of Practice
- obtain ISA First checks for eligible organisations
