Bournemouth
We can provide you with information, advice and guidance to enable you to live independently and purchase support services to meet your needs.
If you live in Bournemouth, we can offer you Direct Payments, Self-Directed Support and other related support as part of our Independent Living – Your Way service.
You may have a question about how to employ a personal assistant, about tax, benefits, or help with budgeting. Our friendly team of highly trained staff can help you feel in control.
This service provides you with the freedom to choose how you want to spend the money you receive from Adult Community Care Services – to help you in your daily life and meet your individual needs. This money is known as a Personal Budget and can be used to:
- employ a personal assistant to help with your personal care
- help pay for equipment to reduce your longer-term health needs
- enable you to take part in community activities or sports
You may wish to receive your Personal Budget as a Direct Payment, have commissioned services (which your Community Care Service organises and pays for directly), or a combination of both.
We can also provide related services, including payroll and managed accounts. Managing your money and payroll can be daunting for anyone new to being an employer and unfamiliar with budgeting, administering tax and National Insurance, so we offer these services to make it easier for you.
How can I access your Independent Living – Your Way service?
Simply contact the Adult Community Care Services Department of Bournemouth Borough Council on 01202 454979. If you are referred to Enham, we will then work with you to create your support plan, to meet your own care and support needs.
Am I eligible?
If you are living in Bournemouth and receive support from Adult Community Care Services, think you may be eligible for an assessment, or wish to make privately funded arrangements, you could be eligible to receive our service.
