Direct Payments
Direct Payments Support Worker Service
Do you feel you would like more say over how your care is provided?
Enham Direct Payments Support Worker Service covers the following areas:
Andover - Aldershot - Alton - Basingstoke - Winchester
What is Direct Payments?
Instead of receiving care from Social Services, you will be able to receive cash payments provided by Social Services to be used to purchase your care requirements yourself e.g. to select and employ carers directly, or via a staff agency of your choice.
How does the Service Work?
These Direct Payments are paid monthly into a separate bank account, to be used solely for this purpose and are not a form of income. This enables you to receive the right kind of bespoke care for your personal needs and the process can be done in your own home and personal space. Trusts can be set up if you would rather a trusted friend looked after the Direct Payment money. The service is not irreversible - you may go back to receiving care arranged by your social worker if things don't work out.
Who can get Direct Payments?
You will need to be over 18 and have been assessed as needing community care services. The service is also open to the parents who are carers of disabled children or disabled young adults aged 16-17 years old. If you have learning difficulties, physical disabilities, mental health problems, HIV Aids or are elderly, then this service will be available for you.
Help will be on hand
Once the social worker has assessed your requirements, this will be recorded in your care plan. Enham will then provide a Support Service and will talk to you about what your responsibilities will be as Direct Payments user and employer. Our team will be on hand every step of the way and will be on the end of the phone if things don't go to plan.
