Drama
Enham runs two drama groups over two afternoons a week (currently Mondays and Thursdays)
We run sessions geared specifically towards developing communication skills, creativity and self-expression using roleplay and other drama games.
If you join us, you will explore a range of styles from Dramas, Comedy and Pantomime to Dance and Mime. We have also created films, which have included a comedy spoof documentary, and an educational DVD "Does He Take Sugar?" (to be released later this year) which explores and addresses issues surrounding attitudes towards disability.
We maintain community links by working with and performing to local schools and other community groups.
Staging a Production
A lot of our clients enjoy this section of the programme in particular and it involves:
• The creative process of devising a play through to rehearsals
• Learning the lines and character part
• Stage management
• Sound effects and music
• Lighting and visual Imagery
• Performance
Recent plays have included “The Diary of Adrian Mole”, “ The Amazing Adventures of Professor Fruitcake and his Truly Terrific Time Machine” and and Australian aboriginal-themed play call “Dreamtime.”
Key Benefits of our Drama Activities:
Drama activities are not only fun, but are designed to develop self-confidence and skills in inter-personal communication and self- expression.
• Development of reading skills and memory.
• Encourage responsibility towards others.
• Opportunity to work as part of a team, contributing to the group as a whole.
• Satisfaction and self-esteem-building, particularly at the end of a performance, which is a culmination of everybody's hard work!
