Homes and Tenancies
We own 193 homes for more than 320 tenants in the village of Enham Alamein in Hampshire, with around 50 percent of our properties being lived in by a person who has a disability.
Accommodation varies with houses, flats and bungalows providing choice and reflecting the individual needs of our tenants.
We also carry out adaptations to property (if practical) so tenants can remain in their homes rather than transfer to another property; our rolling programmes of modernisation and external decoration ensure that our properties are a source of pride and continue to enable independence.
The priority for housing is for people with a disability, but those in severe housing need who would benefit from what Enham has to offer will also be considered. As a registered social landlord (RSL) we provide homes for people meeting the affordable homes criteria.
Village Life
The village of Enham Alamein has a village shop and post office, a petrol station and garage, a doctor's surgery, a private members' club and our charity shop and cafe. There is also a sports ground with two football pitches and a village hall available for hire for weddings and parties. The thriving market town of Andover is just over 2 miles away and connected by a local bus service.
Enham places the community's needs at the heart of its service provision and encourages the involvement of the village's Tenants' Association and Parish Council in its decision making. Every tenant automatically becomes a member of the Tenants' Association when they move into their property. The Association holds an AGM every year at which officers are elected. Meetings are held monthly in the charity shop cafe on the third Wednesday of the month and new committee members are usually eagerly sought.
Applications
If you are interested in applying for housing, you will need to complete an application form. Our Estates Committee consider each application at their monthly meeting and assess each application against agreed criteria; approved applicants are placed on the Waiting List.
Accommodation is allocated soon after it becomes available for letting. Applicants are offered the property which the Estates Committee believes is best suited to their needs. However, an applicant can refuse an offer and this does not affect their chances of being housed at Enham or of being offered another property when one becomes available.
