John Tashiro
My involvement with Enham began in 2004, when I accepted a non-executive director role in its commercial division. I was keen to leverage my marketing experience for social good and had the opportunity to contribute to Enham's rebranding initiative as well as support its varied social industries.
In 2007, I became a Trustee to bring further diligence around communicating the Enham brand and promoting its great work, ranging from the excellent on-site care and training programs to the running of its social industries.
I am constantly inspired by the clients and staff who, regardless of the challenges they face with public perception, government policies and marketplace dynamics, remain positive, determined and dedicated to bring about change for disabled people in society.
About John
A native of the Big Apple (aka New York), John attended Sophia University in Japan and The University of Pennsylvania in the US and earned a BA in International Business and Economics.
After graduating in 1993, he joined the global beverage giant Coca-Cola and spent the next 13 years in various marketing and brand management roles across Asia, the US and Europe. He was involved in four Olympic Games between 1994 and 2000, as part of Coke's global sponsorship and led the first ever corporate sponsored Olympic Torch Relay program.
In 2005, he resigned from the iconic company to spend time with his young family and pursue opportunities with social benefits. He currently consults freelance around branding and marketing strategy with a number of clients from social and ethical start ups to large corporations, such as Gumtree/eBay and Coca-Cola.
In his spare time, John enjoys cycling around the UK, competing in the lower tiers of the professional tennis circuit and being in touch with nature, which includes watching Great White sharks from a shark cage off the southern tip of Africa! Avoiding any Jaws-like incidents, John currently lives in London with his wife, Patty and their daughter, Kayla.
