Julian Miller CB
I have worked for the civil service for around 30 years. My specialist area has been defence and security policy, but my interest in the public services is much wider. Helping government get good, objective advice is essential if people are to receive the support they need from the State. And working to ensure those services are delivered economically and effectively is a constant struggle.
My interest in Enham was sparked by personal contacts, and by seeing the challenges of supporting disabled individuals to fulfil their potential in a world that is often too busy and preoccupied to appreciate what they can offer.
I have also been fortunate in the past to see some of the work of Service charities, and to gain an understanding of the importance of this aspect of Enham's heritage. I hope that my experience can add to the mix of the Board, and provide some insight into the ways of Whitehall in order to help Enham manage its dealings with central government as effectively as possible.
