Residential Care
Living at Enham - Care and Support
We offer you a stepping- stone approach to independence, through our wide range of person-centred services; from residential care to independent living in the community.
Our Residential Care living options at Enham go hand in hand with a variety of individually tailored Development Programme activities to help support you to build on your independence skills in a forward-thinking and innovative environment.
Our vision is that each disabled person reaches their potential – whether that goal may be big or small.
What we can offer you:
Our 3 modern, registered care homes provide residential care and support to people with physical disabilities and associated learning difficulties. Each home contains a mix of 18 light, airy one-bed flats and bedsits, with ensuite facilities and kitchen/dining areas.
Support and care is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Enham staff work with you to develop your own individual support plan. As a resident you will have your own front door key to your own flat and you are supported by a Key Worker. We have an excellent record of Inspection Reports from CSCI (Commission for Social Care Inspection) on all 3 of the homes.
Why not try our services and see what you think!
Planned, short-term breaks are available for respite care or holiday by arrangement. This gives you the chance to try Enham’s services to see if you would like to consider a placement at some time in the future. For example, it is possible to book a short break during the college holidays with a view to moving to Enham after college. Where possible, we are pleased to offer activities within the Development Programme during this time to ensure you do not become isolated in your flat during your stay with us.
Referral and Access to Residential Care:
Anyone can refer to Enham for a place in Residential Care; from the service user ie: you, to the social worker. The first step is to book to attend one of the monthly Open Days to visit one of our care homes and find out more about the Development Programme, to get a flavour of what we have to offer. Access to residential care is by a 3 week multi-disciplinary assessment, which is either funded by your Local Authority or privately. Following the assessment, placement will be offered in one of the care homes if your needs can be met appropriately and you wish to take up the offer. This will also be subject to funding agreement from the Local Authority.
When a place is offered, you will be allocated a Key Worker. Staff have a person-centred approach to working with service users, ensuring individually tailored care and support plans are built around each person’s needs, goals and aspirations.
We are keen to work with all residents on their independence and daily living skills to enable them to develop and progress. As part of this commitment, there is an ongoing focus on developmental activities and everyone is offered a weekly Development Programme to build on their skills. This is also supported by our Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy input from our therapy team both within the care homes and the Development Programme. We understand that people develop at different rates and what may be a modest improvement for some may be a major achievement for others.
