Residential Care Homes
Our 3 modern, registered care homes provide residential care and support to people with physical disabilities and learning difficulties. Each home contains a mix of 18 light, airy one-bed flats and bedsits, with ensuite facilities and kitchen/dining areas. A number of our flats can comfortably accommodate two people sharing and are perfect for couples who are looking to live together.
Support and care is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Enham staff work with you to develop your own individual support plan. As a resident, you will have your own front door key to your own flat and you are supported by a Key Worker. We have an excellent record of Inspection Reports from the Care Quality Commission on all 3 of the homes.
Why not try our services and see what you think
Planned, short-term breaks are available for respite care or holiday by arrangement. This gives you the chance to try Enham's services to see if you would like to consider a placement at some time in the future. For example, it is possible to book a short break during the college holidays with a view to moving to Enham after college. Where possible and in addition to daily life in our care homes, we are pleased to offer activities within the Development Programme during this time to ensure you are able to fully participate in life at Enham during your stay with us.
Accessing our Residential Care facilities
Anyone can refer to Enham for a place in Residential Care; from you as the prospective resident, a family member on your behalf, to your social worker / care manager or other professional involved and interested in your well-being.
The first step is to contact us for a visit or book to attend one of the monthly Open Days to visit our care homes and find out more about the Development Programme. This will help you get a flavour of what we have to offer.
Once we have a suitable place, we will contact you and arrange for an assessment stay (which is usually around three weeks, though this is negotiable). This stay will either be funded by your Local Authority or privately. Following the assessment, a placement will be discussed with you to ensure your needs can be met appropriately and to see if you like what we are offering. This will also be subject to funding agreement, either from your Local Authority or other sources. Our care homes operate a fee system that is tailored to your individual support, so we will give an indication of the costs once we have met you.
In your time with us you will be able to choose a Key Worker who will be your first point of contact for any queries, issues or comments. All Our employees have a person-centred approach to working with residents, ensuring individually tailored care and support plans are built around each person's needs, goals and aspirations.
As part of daily life in the residential home we work with you to develop independence and daily living skills. There is an ongoing focus on developmental as well as social activities. Specific support from our Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy staff within the homes enables progress towards what may be a modest improvement for some but may be a major achievement for others.
Enham believe that the option to live in a care home should be done through positive choice. This choice may be a solution for a period in your life and we are committed to work with you as your skills, abilities and aspirations change to explore suitable alternative living arrangements if and when the time is right. We encourage residents to make full use of our Registered Social Landlord status in gaining their own tenancy (both inside and outside) of Enham with the care and support, usually still delivered by Enham staff, to maintain independent living outside of a care home.
