Roger Squire
Being involved with Enham and its people has been a life changing event for me. To learn about their hopes and fears; their ambitions and dreams; and to play my small part in trying to makes some of these come true through Enham is a humbling experience.
I joined the Enham family when I became a trustee in 2004 and was given the challenge of leading the transformation of Enham's property estate in the village of Enham Alamein - preserving the best from the past, developing the best for the future and managing the existing estate and ensuring all our the buildings are used to their full potential along the way.
We are putting in place long term plans for the development and expansion of the village and in doing so, we will provide enhanced facilities for the clients of Enham, as well as increasing the choice of houses and tenures both for them and for others who wish to share living in this wonderful place.
About Roger
Roger grew up in London and has lived there almost all his life. He went to Cambridge University where he read Land Economics in preparation for a career in commercial property.
He joined what was then Britain's second largest property company - MEPC plc. Roger eventually took charge of the company's development programme and over the next 13 years he developed over 100 buildings in seven countries.
In 1991 he took the skills he had learned to help with the regeneration of London's Docklands in the East End by working with the London Docklands Development Corporation and became its Chief Executive.
When the LDDC closed in 1998, Roger set up his own consultancy business advising on property development and urban regeneration projects in a number of cities in the UK as well as in Spain.
In addition to his work with Enham, Roger is also involved with six other charities and ‘not for profit' businesses including the Metropolitan Housing Partnership - a major Registered Provider of affordable housing in London and the Midlands.
Roger spends much of his summer leisure time sailing the English Channel and in the winter enjoys the less active pursuit of reading.
